February 27 Buck Lake 2 Cancelled

With the cancellation of the first Buck Lake race the second date was in jeopardy. When the weather did not offer any colder temperatures the fate of Buck Lake 2 was sealed. Please pass this information on to those whom it may concern.

Numb Bum Track Update - Feb. 14

On Feb. 13, we had 20 plus riders who came to practice at Sandy Beach, a 1.2km section was plowed in the early morning. (with a 14000 lbs tractor) Every thing went really well with no problems and very little water (only got 2" under the old snow bank )

New Class at Numb Bum for the 6 hour teams!

Due to the cancellation of several 6hr races, the PDRA will introduce a new class for those that do not have lights and the setup to run a full 24 hour race. "THE RED EYE CLASS" will ride from the start till dusk, then the marshals will pull them out at the same time (lap). Then in the morning when the sun comes up, they will enter the race again till the end of the 24 hour race!!! The entry fee will be $80.00 which is the same as 2x 6hrs. The competing teams will still need a transponder and a CMRC license. (as they did for the 6hrs) These teams will get a free t-shirt and finishing plaque. AME MAGAZINE will be sponsoring trophies for the top 3 teams as well. Please Note, this Red Eye Class is not for points in the AEIRA series, this is just an opportunity for those who want to race but were unable due to the cancellation of Buck Lake and Telford Lake.
                            Dan Cheron PDRA Prez.

For all the information about this class to go www.pdramx.com

February 13 Buck Lake Cancelled

The February 13th Buck Lake ice race has been cancelled due to thin ice. Please spread the word to whom this may concern. Ice holes had been drilled throughout the week to ensure ice thickness, but on Saturday a Bobcat broke through the ice near the lap count area.

At this time, the Numb Bum is still a go! Ice tests will be done on Monday and reports will be available on aeira.com

A Message From Jim Burrows. Re: Telford Lake Cancellation

Hello Riders:

I have had to make a decision on the Leduc Telford 6hr and the race, unfortunately, will not go as planned for Feb. 13/05.

The NASCC (Northern Alberta Sports Car Club) and the AEIRA were to hold a joint event and this shall be the first year in 16 years that they or the AEIRA have been unable to hold an event because of numerous unforeseen circumstances.

The AEIRA has become a large club and the turnout at all of our events proves that. I would like to see this trend continue as this season continues and hope for the best for all other races in the schedule.

Thanks to all the sponsors and the riders and good luck this season everyone!!!

If there are any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me @ 780-980-5386

Regards
Jim Burrows

Rule Changes!

-No Street Bikes allowed in the AEIRA Ice Racing Series.
-It is mandatory to put up a sign in front of each pit that contains that pits:

  • Team Number
  • Team Name
  • Class of machine

You could be a PDRA Member!

All racers who enter the Numb Bum 24 automatically become "enthusiast" level members of the Pembina Dirt Riders Association. This means you will be able to vote on issues regarding the Numb Bum and Pembina Dirt Riders. For more information see www.pdramx.com
